Pour A Can Of Warm Sprite Into Batter To Make The Flakiest, Most Delicious Biscuits Ever

One of my favorite breakfast foods of all time is biscuits. Heck, biscuits are delicious any time of day, not just for breakfast.

From biscuits and gravy, to chicken and biscuits, to biscuits paired with just some simple butter they’re all delicious.

I’ve tried making biscuits a few time, and although they’ve been okay, I’ve been disappointed with how dense and dry they’ve turned out.

Obviously, I still ate them, but ever since my first time making (well, trying to make) biscuits, I’ve been looking for easy ways to make then fluffier and moister (without having to take a cooking class).

Of course, I could just switch to pre-made biscuits, which are also delicious, but I’m very determined to find a recipe that works for me.

That’s why, when I came across this super simple recipe with a genius hack for making a fluffier biscuit, I had to try it.

Once you read it, I’m sure you’ll want to test it out, too!

How incredible do those biscuits look? According to the person who posted this recipe on Instructables, this recipe is very easy to make.

While you can use Bisquick for this recipe, the poster didn’t have any on hand, so they made their flour mixture from scratch instead.

Start with the following ingredients:

  • 2.5 cups flour
  • 1.5 teaspoons baking powder
  • 0.5 teaspoons salt

Mix these three ingredients together to create your flour mixture.

Next, take out the following ingredients and add them to the flour mixture:

  • 1/2 cup Crisco
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup Sprite

Blend the Crisco into the flour using a fork, then stir the other two ingredients into the mixture.

Continue to mix all the ingredients together until the mixture forms a soft dough.

The dough should be soft and airy, but not sticky.

The next step? Take the dough out of the bowl and put it onto a table or hard surface.

Knead the dough a few times, then pat the dough flat so it’s about half an inch thick.

After the dough is laid out flat on a hard surface, cut the dough into biscuits.

You can use anything you’d like to cut the dough, from a cookie cutter to a cup to the measuring cup you already used.

Next, melt butter into a cast iron skillet and add your biscuits to the pan.

Once all the biscuits are in the pan, bake them for 10 minutes at 375 degrees.

The completed biscuits will be buttery and delicious, and should come out of the oven golden-brown.

The woman who uploaded these to Instructables says that these biscuits will be “both sweeter and fluffier than regular baking powder biscuits.”
